If you are thinking about designing your web website, have designed a website for yourself or others, or think you know everything, Web Design From Scratch is a great resource.
Nicely laid out, well written, and not overloaded with ads. I especially like the page on “The Golden Rule“

I just don’t know what to say about this.
This seems to be one of the most criminal, monopolistic abuses of power that I have seen happen on the internet since I made my first clickety click several years ago.
Verisgn is making all the unregistered domains point back to their server so they can make money from the traffic of every unused domain on the internet. Mofos.

So my business partner and I are pretty close to launching a new web project. It definitely has the potential to be pretty big.
We’re at the final testing and while all the major stuff is done, there are still a few straggling items that are holding things up (darn credit card processors and their non-standard code!)
He made a good comparison, it’s like when you’re moving and you’ve moved all the couches and beds and other “big” stuff, but then you look at your place and you see all the little crap left hiding in corners. Not that it’s important, but it seems to be everywhere…

That pretty much sums it up. Kevin is da bomb (do people still say that?)
He fixed the forums script links over there to the right so they would be XHTML compliant, and he helped me narrow down the bugs in the code and now this is a fully XHTML compliant web page. There’s something satisfying about having that little bagde at the bottom of the screen. It’s like a gold star in Kindergarten.
Oh, you don’t know Kevin? Kevin is the man behind the web’s greatest tool, TinyURL.com He also hosts the webdiscuss web based forums and he coded it so that the forum posts automatically show up in the newsgroup (and vice versa).
